OVERVIEW

Branding Sticky Grams

Sticky Grams is an upcoming marijuana company with a new vision for the industry. The company wanted to create a quality brand that was inviting and fresh. I was contracted to help create the brand.

Projects range from designing the logo and brand, the packaging of the products, and marketing materials like email blasts and social media posts.

The Idea

Typefaces

The two typefaces, Avenir Next and Lato, contrast in letter weight and width. They pair great together.

Avenir Next is bold and attention grabbing often used for strong headers, while Lato is best utilized for bodies and paragraphs of text.

The Color Palette

Standing out from the others

The owners of the brand want to normalize cannabis and draw a different crowd to this industry while still standing out from the other brands in the current market. They wanted their brand to feel approachable, inclusive, fun, and gender neutral.

Sticky Gram's Packaging

In order to uphold the image of an approachable, friendly, and inclusive brand, the team spent a lot of time crafting ideas of their first product launch. The packaging design is complex from the interior to exterior.

The team wanted to implement positive / feel-good quotes to uplift and encourage users. This makes it gift-able as well, hence the dual meaning of “grams”.

Inspiration came from modern and fun text designs.

'Feel Good' Card Designs

The original artwork and elaborate details (like print finishes: uv gloss and silver foil stamps) all used to discourage counterfeiters.

The Aftermath

It was a lot of fun building this brand from the ground up. Working as the only designer on this team has impacted the way I work and how I communicate with others.
